Summary of Expertise:

Listed with other top experts in:

Expert has recently worked on commercializing a biomass to transportation fuel process for a start-up that produced almost 1 million gallons of a drop in fuel at KiOR His work increased the predicted yields of the next generation process by 10% and saved an estimated $20 million in capital costs. He has over 30 years of experience in research and development, including 26 years at UOP, the leading developer of refining technology. His career has been focused on catalyst, process development and product quality. Much of it involved new technologies, mainly in the refining, petrochemical and environmental catalysis and process areas. He is the inventor of 18 US patents with 9 applications pending. Leading focused teams commercializing new technology gave him the unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the effort including: new materials, engineering design, start-up, catalysts, manufacturing and trouble shooting. He also spent time in manufacturing and product support roles so that he understands how support technology in the field. He is a six sigma blackbelt and he brings a statistical approach to experimental design, modeling and data analysis that ensures the significance of the results.
