IT/VOICE ENGINEER / MANAGEMENT

 

Logitel was the sole importer/suppliers of digital NEC / Nitsuko branded Voice Communication products in South Africa. Services included, Sales and support of PBX's and complementary voice equipment in the field i.e. telephone management software, logging systems, voice recording, call center and contact center services. Logitel also designed and manufactured on-site various telephonic components including lightning protection, voice logging equipment and PBX PC boards. Logitel was also one of the first analogue PBX manufacturers that locally designed and manufactured an analogue PABX that was sold to the Africa and European markets. I started as a technician/engineer, soldering/testing at component level and was directly involved with the manufacturing and testing. I become a Voice technician/engineer commissioning and implementing PBX equipment for clients. When digital Voice over IP boomed and was considered bleeding edge, I moved into the IT department to focus on integrating digital voice solutions into our PBX range of products, as well as supporting and managing IT facilities and services including infrastructure, architecture and network (internal and clients). I ensured that Logitel obtained Cisco Premier Partnership in June 2001) at the height of the VoIP market trends, to have credibility in the market place and be able to procure and supply Cisco Voice based products. Preparations, commissioning and installation of digital PBX's on client premises.
